Kia shows off new compact EV3

First images of Kia's EV3 SUV showcase futuristic styling cues.

Korean company Kia has shared the first images of the imminent EV3 compact EV SUV. While they don’t reveal too much information, the teaser images show a portion of the front and rear of the car with geometric lines and bold styling not dissimilar to Kia’s contemporary EV design language.

In recent years, Kia has switched up its design language with refined, deliberate cues dominating proceedings. As a result, the EV3 utilises the brand’s futuristic Star Map lighting with box-like fenders emphasising a muscular and squat stance. The design language – known globally as ‘Opposites United’ – is shared with Kia’s flagship EV9 SUV.

Aiming to broaden the accessibility of electric mobility following the introduction of the Kia EV6 and EV9 models, the EV3 is expected to deliver outstanding performance through innovative technologies.

Kia hopes the EV3 will accelerate the brand’s global EV transition by providing a more accessible solution for customers looking to convert from international combustion to electric mobility.

The new Kia EV3 will go on sale later this year following the car’s global launch, which will be live-streamed on Kia’s YouTube channel on 23 May 2024, 11:00am BST.
