Lotus is known for its pioneering technical prowess and the Hethel-based brand is betting big on the EV space.
Recognising that range anxiety and recharging convenience are fundamental decision points for EV owners, Lotus have announced new services from Bosch and Mobilise Power Solution. As part of its new partnership, Lotus will offer many recharging points for customers across Europe.
The new venture is targeted at providing cross-European touring confidence and convenience for owners of the Eletre, but also setting in place a network that will support future Lotus EVs. Like the forthcoming Emeya.
As one of the world’s most established automotive component suppliers and a leader in mechatronics, Bosch has built a broad charging network. Lotus owners will access this network, totalling more than 600,000 public charging stations, with a simple tap of their Lotus Charging Card. This includes 121,000 chargers in Germany, 103,000 in France, and 23,500 in the United Kingdom.
With chargers present in 30 European countries, Bosch offers Lotus EV drivers all the recharging distribution they could need for unencumbered driving and touring enjoyment, regardless of destination.
Lotus CCO, Mike Johnstone, sees the new charging partnership as a primary enabler for the brand’s EV ambitions. “By tapping into Bosch and Mobilise Power Solutions, we’re able to offer our customers further confidence in owning an electric Lotus by providing them with more and effortless options, wherever they are in Europe.”
The Lotus Cars app will conveniently locate the nearest Bosch public charging station for Eletre owners on the move. Charging history, cost tabulation, and remote battery level monitoring are among the consolidated functions offered by the app, empowering Eletre owners with a seamless high-performance EV driving experience.
To enhance the home charging experience, Lotus now offers Eletre owners an all-inclusive charging point solution from Mobilise Power Solutions. Priced from only £1,199, the Mobilised Power Solutions home charging point can be linked to a solar system for truly sustainable energy to power an Eletre.
For a brand with a history steeped in lightweight engineering and efficient performance, Lotus is now attempting to provide a seamlessly integrated and efficient energy-sourcing experience for its EV customers.
